Thank You, Harry

My small Harry Potter collection from Canada. British version!

Perhaps I judged the books by their covers.  Maybe these lacked drawings inside. Or maybe I’m not in to reading in general. But whatever it was, I was never a die-hard fan of Harry Potter.

I only read the first book and part of the second book… and I only watched 3 out of the 8 movies, the third being the finale: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.  The ticket was given to me for free last night.

My first reaction was that Harry Potter and his friends have grown so much! Watch out for the scene where Harry and Ron take off their shirts!
As expected, the movie was filled with fantastic visuals and I was definitely transported to a different world. While this was pretty exciting, I think the other two HP movies I watched were more exciting.

The main reason why I liked the movie though was that Harry’s story seemed to come full circle.

When the movie ended, a part of me felt like it ended as well.

Even if I wasn’t a loyal fan, even if I didn’t get to read all the books or watch all the movies, I still feel that I grew up with Harry Potter. He’s like a schoolmate that you kinda knew but never got close to. But over the past 11 years, he was always there.

Thank you, Harry, for the adventure that I wasn’t able to fully take part in. Soon, I’ll find the time to read about and watch your wonderful journey to see what I’ve missed.
