The Most Unexpected Trip of 2012

"Complete the sentence: '#iChoosePhilippines because ___________.' #IMMAPSummit2012"

This was an online promo conducted by Choose Philippines during the IMMAP 2012 Digital Summit three weeks ago.

For a chance to win a trip to Palawan, I did!

This was actually my second tweet because the first one didn't have the necessary hashtags.

I left the seminar early on the day that winners would be announced. I thought that my chances of winning were slim because participants usually had to be present during the announcement to officially win.

A few hours later, I received congratulatory messages on my Twitter feed, which included this:

OMG! What a pleasant surprise! Who cares if I just came back from Puerto Princesa the night before the seminar? This has got to be the most unexpected trip this year.

I was then informed that this was valid only until September 30 this year, which made everything more exciting. When I saw the envelope upon claiming it in ABS-CBN, it read: "Busuanga."

Not too keen on my geography, I even had to Google: "Where is Busuanga?" Sad, I know.

But lo and behold! I'm off to Coron! I've been there before but that was 10 years ago. I don't mind going back at all.

I won a trip for two for 3D/2N at Busuanga Island Paradise.
This includes daily breakfast, airport transfers, round-trip airfare via Zest Air, and taxes and service charges.

For this trip, I've decided to go solo. Ya'll know how I love spending time alone. And just because I like to travel by myself sometimes doesn't mean I'm weird, problematic, or depressed. Remember, "not all who wander are lost."

In fact, I'm even extending the trip make it 5D/4N! This is my little reward to myself for being... well, a good boy.

All my bags are packed I'm ready to go.

I'm packed and ready to go. But as usual, I haven't done a clear itinerary. Actually, I don't even know where I'm going to stay during my extension. Worse, I'm not even sure if my flight will push through because of the weather. But if ever, I'm just welcoming everything with open arms, even the rain.

Thank you to Campaigns & Grey for sending me to the 2-day digital seminar. Thank you also to Choose Philippines, the IMMAP 2012 Digital Summit, and to PHRS for taking care of my reservations.

See you in four hours, Coron!
